Maryse back in the WWE....Kinda

Yes the gorgeous Maryse is back in the WWE.
Sorta.
The former two time WWE Divas Champion and one of the best Heels the WWE has ever had came back on the April 4, 2016 episode of Raw.
However, she is just accompanying her husband, The Miz to the matches.
And of course interfering in them.
What else would Maryse do?
She is now his "manager" and looks better than she ever did.
And now she and the Miz are referred to as the "It Couple".

Maybe if we are very good and take our vitamins and say our prayers....Maryse will actually suit up and get back in the ring.
I think a Charlotte/Maryse feud would be awesome.

Former WWE Diva Maryse in the Ring

Another former WWE Diva that is still a fan favorite is Maryse.
One of the best Heels the WWE has had in recent memory, she held the WWE Divas Championship for the second longest next to AJ Lee.
You know I had forgotten how much she used the "French Pain" (aka the Camel clutch) in her matches.
But it looks like most of the WWE Divas were on the receiving end of that hold at one time or another.

There were a ton of wrestling superstars at the 2012 WWE Hall of Fame event before WrestleMania XXVIII.
But here is one pairing in particular that was amazing.
Talk about an "Axis of Evil".
Imagine if Maryse decided to come out of retirement and team up with Eve.
They could have a run that would make The Beautiful People and Lay-Cool look tame in comparison.
However, it's only a dream.

Maryse is going on to "Future Endeavors"

Like last year, I thought I would make a list of all the lovely ladies that have passed through the door of the "Sports Entertainment" giant, the WWE
You do know now we are not supposed to refer to their Superstars and Divas as wrestlers right?
So I guess technically it's WE. But I think WE is taken and they dont want another round like they had with the World Wildlife Fund.
Those pandas can deliver a mean chair shot.

We just got over losing Gail Kim, and now "The French Canadian Beauty" Maryse Ouellet has left the WWE Divas ranks.
She was released from her WWE contract on October 28, 2011 and that caught a lot of people off guard.
Maryse has been with the WWE since 2006 and disregarding some storylines where they basically underused her, she had shown a lot of improvement.
For a former Miss Hawaiian Tropic Canada, she was fairly decent in the ring, but she had great mike skills.
And she had the blond heel role down pretty pat.
You know you CAN thrive in the WWE with no so great wrestling ability as long as you can get the crowd going.
::cough:: John Cena ::cough::

Now where will Marsye go?
I hate to say that she won't go to TNA since I was dead wrong about that with Gail Kim.
But I really can't see it.
The only way I could see Maryse at TNA would be as a Karen Jarrett type character.

I'm gonna guess that the blond beauty will aim more for modeling and acting.
Kinda like Stacy Keibler.
We saw how well that went.
Of course Stacy is dating George Clooney now.
I think George has this Elvis thing about female wrestlers.
Mark my words.

Kharma is Gone...For Now

Wow.
I was really excited when I found out the Awesome Kong was going to the WWE.
It went against every "Diva rule" and I couldnt wait to see what happened.
Well, Kia (Kong) made this announcement on WWE....

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for her and I really hope she does come back in a year and grinds the Bellas into dust.
I just almost wish the WWE had her just vanish and come back in a year.
Because now I think we will see a "Monster Face" when she comes back.

Anyway, some of the other Divas are getting in on the act via Twitter....

By the way, a lot of people got angry over the Bellas involvment at the end of the promo.
C'mon, this is the WWE, tasteless is everyday there.
What bugged me is that the Faces didnt come out and clear the ring.

Can You Really Blame Maryse?

Several wrestling sites are saying that Ted DiBiase's lack of a WWE push is because Maryse is not doing all that well as a valet.
They are saying that Maryse is more interested in making herself look good than being an "effective" valet.
One article even referenced Maryse as "the former glamour model"

????

Okay... Maryse IS a a former glamour model and a former Miss Hawaiian Tropic Canada.
But you have to remember that she is also a former WWE Divas Champion.
Two times actually.

I never thought I would be defending Maryse's wrestling skills (okay, actually I'm still not), but would the WWE take John Cena and make him Edge's valet and expect him to go at it heart and soul?

I know the Women's Belts mean next to nothing to Vince and his crew, but taking a former champion and making a them a valet makes the title (and the wrestlers) look weak.
Remember K-Fed pinning Cena?
That STILL makes me mad to this day.

Remember when women started OUT as valets and worked up to being wrestlers?

Yes we know the Divas are just Eye Candy to the WWE story writers.
Fortunately that's not the case in TNA (okay...not as much so) and thank God the Indys still hold the female wrestlers in high regard.
Lucha Libre and Joshi treat their female wrestlers better than that.

So yeah, maybe Maryse IS slacking off as a valet.

Can you blame her?

The Top Ten Female Wrestlers for September 2010

I haven't done a Top Ten female wrestlers list here in awhile, so I thought I'd do a ten best of the best here on this blog.
Really, it's kind of interesting to me what womens wrestlers are popular because it's not always who you'd think.
And it also shows one wrestling promotion's pretty much total domination of the ranks.
Guess which one.

1. Maryse
Yes she is hands down the winner.
The absolutely most searched for lady here.
And it appears I'm not the only one that thinks she is being totally misused at the moment by the WWE, check out Renee Gerber's article over at Bleacher Report.

2. Gail Kim
Another talented young lady that’s being sadly underused by the WWE.
Former WWE Womens's Champ and Former TNA Knockout Champ.
And what is she doing now?

3. Candice Michelle
Not even a Diva anymore, but strong enough to show up at number 3.

4. Mickie James
Again, another former WWE Diva in at number 4.
Now she's a TNA Knockout.
But for how long....?

5. Melina
Really, the woman that should have the WWE Unified Divas Championship belt around her waist.
At least I think so.

6. Layla
Probably one of the most beautiful Divas out of the whole bunch.
And one half of The Beautiful...I mean Lay-Cool.

7. Christy Hemme
Former TNA Knockout and current backstage interviewer for TNA.

8. Michelle McCool
PWI's Female Wrestler of the year and the WWE Unified Divas Champion.
And yes a lot of people think that's because she's "Mrs. Undertaker".

Former WWE Diva for what, over 2 years now?
But still in at number nine.

And finally one of the best women that the WWE has on the roster.
I really cannot wait to see her get back in the ring.

Why Isn't Maryse Wrestling?

One of the most popular women on this blog is WWE Diva Maryse.
Okay, she's THE most popular woman here, so why isn't the WWE doing anything with her?
Did she make the higher ups mad?
Is she injured?
Why is the former two time holder of the WWE Divas Championship regulated to little more than Ted DiBiase's valet?

Is this the best we're gonna get from "The Sultry Diva" now?



Yeah I know, when did I suddenly care when one of the "models turned wrestler" isn't involved in competition?
But as I have stated before Maryse, Michelle McCool and Kelly have worked on their ring skills.
And even if she's not one of the best wrestlers the WWE has, she is a really good heel.

WWE Divas Maryse, Eve Torres, and Michelle McCool are featured in a photoshoot in the new Muscle & Fitness magazine that you can see pictures from here.

When she left the WWE, I thought Mickie James was changing from wrestling to her musical career, but it looks like she's gonna keep a foot in the ring as she will be making appearances for the wrestling promotions World Wrestling Council (WWC), Maryland Championship Wrestling (MCW) and International Wrestling Cartel (IWC).

Speaking of released WWE Divas, you probably already know that the WWE released NXT season announcer and WWE Diva Savannah (Angela Fong).
The reason is allegedly because she messed up her lines on RAW while interviewing Wade Barrett.
Boy, it doesn't take a lot for a Diva to get released does it?
Remember when Maria screwed up during an interview and it was worked into her character?

AJ Lee (April Jeanette, a developmental wrestler from Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW)) has been taking on the role of hostess at a few recent WWE events.
So maybe AJ is getting ready to move up in the ranks?

And in female wrestling news NOT related to WWE, former TNA Knockout Sojo Bolt (Josette Bynum) appeared on Wrestlicious Takedown Saturday as CoCo Montego.
She teamed up with Marley (Daizee Haize) to take on Naughty Girls (Portia Perez and Nicole Matthews).

Gail Kim Turning Heel?

I've been saying that I thought they should turn Gail heel for awhile now.
I like Gail, but I like the evil-submission specialist-I'll make you beg for mercy before the match is over Gail.
Remember when she submitted Victoria with the Flying Dragon / Christo (Tilt–a–whirl headscissors armbar)?
Well I do.

With both Michelle McCool AND Maryse injured, now would be the time to bring in the evil Gail to go after Mickie James' newly won Divas Championship.
I personally think a Mickie James / Gail Kim feud would be awesome.
But lets take it a step further.
No lingerie pillow fights or mud wrestling, let's give them a storyline like the old Trish / Victoria / Lita days.
Maybe an "I Quit Match" or a steel cage match.
Lets let these two really go at it and show just what they can do.
Remember, Mickie (to my knowledge) is the only woman to compete in a Clockwork Orange House of Fun match.
That's a tough match.

And draw it out some.
They don't have to go to the "old school" lengths of a year build up, but give the ladies several months to really get some heat going.

With the right booking, this could be one of the storylines of the year.
Not just three TV appearances and one PPV.

WWE Night of Champions Results

In female wrestling action tonight at the WWE Night of Champions.....

In the WWE Women's Championship Match, Michelle McCool defeated Melina to retain her WWE Women's Championship.

And in the WWE Divas Championship Match, Mickie James defeated the champion Maryse to become the new WWE Divas Champion.
This makes Mickie the third WWE Divas Champion behind Maryse and Michelle McCool.

For the second straight week in a row on WWE Raw, four time ex WWE Women's Wrestling Champion Mickie James pinned the current Diva's Champion Maryse.
This time was in a tag team, but Mickie still scored the pinfall.
Will Mickie be wearing the belt around her waist soon?
Everyone likes Mickie.
Even when she was doing the "Psycho Mickie"storyline with Trish, she got huge pops, even bigger sometimes than the Golden Girl Trish herself.
And Mickie has paid her dues.
She started wrestling in 1999 and wrestled for Indy wrestling promotions, TNA and OVW before finally landing in the WWE in 2005.
The current series of matches with Maryse at house shows and on TV are really getting attention.
To be fair though, one half of the reason Mickie is looking so good is Maryse.
Maryse has come a long way from Miss Hawaiian Tropic Canada in 2003.

This may sound strange, but as much as I like Mickie, I hope she doesn't get the belt quickly.
I hope we get to see a really good feud.
It doesn't have to be the "old school" six month to a year draw out program, but I would like to see some real build up.
I personally think it would be a good idea to have the title change hands in August at SummerSlam.

WWE Diva News and Rumors

Last night on WWE Raw, Mickie James took on Maryse in a non title bout.
Mickie got the win with a DDT.

In case you missed the match, here it is...




Evidently the WWE is not too happy with Tiffany being the GM of ECW.
There is talk of maybe putting Tommy Dreamer in the role.


Don't expect to see Candice Michelle on SmackDown anytime soon.
According to her Twitter account " In hawaii with family! Its beautiful here! Went swimming w sharks today and doing therapy in the sunshine!"
Think about it....having to do ankle theraphy isnt exactly great, but getting to do it in Hawaii?
Awesome.


The WWE has signed Indy wrestler Miss April (April Jeanette) to a developmental contract.
She had been working with National Wrestling Superstars and Women Superstars Unleashed.

WWE Diva's Champion Maryse

Maryse beat Michelle McCool for the WWE Diva's title on the December 26,2008 edition of SmackDown!.
Then on December 28, one of the Bella Twins(I don't know which one)nailed her with a dropkick that landed on her kneecap and dislocated her knee in a wrestling match in Raleigh NC.
Not a good year end for the new WWE Diva's Champ.
But now the word is that Maryse will return to the ring on January 16th, which seems a bit early to me.
I'm not a doctor or a trainer, so I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens.

Michelle McCool and Maryse At Unforgiven

At WWE Unforgiven it will be Michelle McCool wrestling Maryse for The Diva's Championship.
This will be Maryse's first PPV match and Michelle McCool's first Diva's Championship defense on PPV.
This will be a chance for both women to prove what they can really do in the ring.
I wish them both luck.

Friday night on WWE Smackdown, Michelle McCool, Maria, Maryse and Natalya

Friday night on WWE Smackdown, Michelle McCool and Maria went up against Maryse and Natalya in a women's tag team wrestling match.
Maryse and Natalya won via a DDT from Maryse.
After the match Maryse and Natalya put the beatdown on Michelle.
The beautiful Eve Torres also appeared, interviewing Jeff Hardy in a segment.
