Maryse Ouellet is a French Canadian glamour model currently working for WWE under a developmental contract. She is currently training in Ohio Valley Wrestling, and she is also the hostess for Friday Night Smackdown!. She is also a Beauty Pageant contestant, winning Miss Hawaiian Tropic Canada 2003 and finishing second at the International Finals of Miss Hawaiian Tropic 2004.
She has a degree in Business Administration, and holds a black belt in Martial Arts. She is involved in the Foundation of Children General Hospital of Montreal, Quebec.
Maryse was one of the eight finalists involved in 2006 WWE Diva Search along with WWE Divas Layla El and Milena Roucka (Rosa Mendes).
She was eliminated during the July 24, 2006 show, becoming the second contestant to be eliminated. On August 4, 2006, WWE reporter, Zack Zeigler, reported on WWE.com that she hasn’t officially been hired, but was invited to observe workouts and the training facility at Ohio Valley Wrestling from August 13, 2006 to August 17, 2006
WWE officially signed Maryse to a developmental contract in August 2006 assigned her to the Ohio Valley Wrestling training facility. There, she appears in the front row at OVW weekly television tapings, as well as bikini contests and backstage segments. At OVW Houseshows, Maryse has in the past managed fellow French Canadian Rene Dupree. Maryse made her in-ring Professional wrestling debut: on December 16, 2006 OVW House Show from Greensburg, Kentucky where she teamed up with Katie Lea, Kelly Kelly, Victoria and She Nay Nay to defeat the team of ODB, Milena Roucka, Josie, Beth Phoenix & Melody.
On the September 22, 2006 edition of SmackDown!, Maryse was shown on the TitanTron welcoming the viewers in French on the season premiere of SmackDown! on the new CW Network, in front of her hometown crowd in Montreal. After continuing to do this for a couple of weeks, she was sent back to OVW for further training. In early 2007, she returned to Smackdown! welcoming back viewers from commercial breaks.
