Alexa Bliss - Smackdown Women's Champion

Alexa Bliss is the new Smackdown Women's Champion.
She defeated Becky Lynch at the TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs PPV on December 4th.
I'm not as happy about that as a lot of people are because she really doesn't do a thing for me.
Maybe it's the faux Harley Quinn look that people like....I dont know.
But anyway...she's the champ now.

WWE Divas Champion AJ Lee versus Eva Marie?
Sounds pretty dumb huh?
One of the best WWE Divas they have against one of the worst.

But to be a really short match, they pulled it off.
Eva is really starting to get the "Heelish" thing now.
Slapping, punching, kicking, pulling hair, taunting them by blowing kisses, then running to the ropes when her opponent comes back.

Heck, she even threw AJ out of the ring!
Are they gonna try to play up Eva as a "Powerhouse"?
I noticed she went for a one arm backbreaker at one point.

Well you know that no matter how well Eva did, AJ was just one Black Widow away from victory.
And so it was.

We seem to be losing WWE Divas, but now we are getting a good one back!
Yes the WWE has announced that Lilian Garcia will be returning to the WWE.
See?
"WWE Universe, Lilian Garcia is back in a WWE ring!
Returning to WWE full-time after a more than two-year hiatus, Lilian will be SmackDown’s new ring announcer! It’s her first time joining WWE’s flagship Friday night brand."

Why is this important?
Well Lilian isn't actually a female wrestler, and the storylines they involved her in were to say the least lacking.
But Lilian had the thing that Miss Elizabeth had.
Class.
In the WWE with their outrageous storylines, that's a rare thing.
Even if the story line ran south fairly quickly, Lilian seemed to rise above it.

Now I'm wondering what they will do with her.

Aksana Do Over

You know, I take the summer off and everything changes.
Case in point, Aksana (Zivile Raudoniene).
You probably already know that Zivile was an IFBB Figure Pro with a very promising career before she joined the WWE.
She had racked up wins at the 2006 NPC Metropolitan, the 2006 NPC Pittsburgh, the 2007 IFBB New York Pro and the 2009 Arnold Classic before agreeing to step into the squared circle.

Zivile started out in Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) under the name "Olga", but it was soon changed to Aksana.
Good thing too because with "Olga", her European background and her musculature, I was afraid they were going for a female version of Mighty Igor or Ivan Putski.



But like I said, her name was changed to Aksana and she started managing Eli Cottonwood in November of 2009.
Then in January 2010, she made her in-ring debut and actually started wrestling.
Funny thing is, that when she started wrestling, she reminded me of Trish Stratus when she first started out.



But in August of 2011, Aksana showed up on SmackDown! with the same name, but a whole new look.
She doesn't remind me of Trish anymore and if anything, I think her new look has made her way hotter.
Now the blonde haired Aksana has jet black hair with bangs and dark skin.

Maybe they should stop making her act and just focus on wrestling...
Yeah right.
That'll happen.

WWE Diva News and Rumors

Last night on WWE Raw, Mickie James took on Maryse in a non title bout.
Mickie got the win with a DDT.

In case you missed the match, here it is...




Evidently the WWE is not too happy with Tiffany being the GM of ECW.
There is talk of maybe putting Tommy Dreamer in the role.


Don't expect to see Candice Michelle on SmackDown anytime soon.
According to her Twitter account " In hawaii with family! Its beautiful here! Went swimming w sharks today and doing therapy in the sunshine!"
Think about it....having to do ankle theraphy isnt exactly great, but getting to do it in Hawaii?
Awesome.


The WWE has signed Indy wrestler Miss April (April Jeanette) to a developmental contract.
She had been working with National Wrestling Superstars and Women Superstars Unleashed.

WWE Divas 18 Diva Tag Team Match

Last night on WWE Raw, they had an eighteen Divas tag match.
I know this is a build up for the 25 Diva Battle Royal at Wrestlemania, but an 18 Diva tag match?
That's got to be confusing even by WWE standards.
And guess who was there?
Yes...Gail Kim.
AND Victoria!
So I guess we can pretty much assume that Gail and Victoria will be at Wrestlemania.

The match was won by the team of Gail Kim, Kelly Kelly, Eve Torres, Brie Bella, Mickie James, Maria, Tiffany and Alicia Fox.
Team?
That's more like an army.

BTW, even though this is on WWE Raw, Gail will be on Smackdown this week.
And at the WWE roster page on Wikipedia, Gail is listed as a Smackdown Diva.
I'm thinking we're gonna see a Gail Kim / Maryse feud.

Another BTW, I'm not even gonna talk about the Santino Marella skit after the match.
I just hope we do NOT see him in the Battle Royal.

WWE Diva Layla

WWE Diva Layla hasn't really done much lately except hang around William Regal.
And did they drop the "Layla London" gimmick?
I noticed on her page at WWE.com she's referred to as Layla and Layla El.
Outside of the wrestling ring, Layla, along with Beth Phoenix and Candice Michelle, appeared in the February 2009 issue of FLEX Magazine.
And I still say Layla is one of the prettiest WWE divas out there.
I just wish they'd get her some more training and get her in the ring more.
Yes I know if all the Divas actually wrestled each week they wouldn't have time for anything else.
Or the WWE would have to create another show just for all the divas, kinda like "WWE GLOW".
Which I would have no problem with......

WWE Diva Candice Michelle, Face or Heel?

WWE Diva Candice Michelle, Face or Heel?

After injuring her shoulder in 2008, then re-injuring again when she tried to return to the ring, WWE Diva Candice Michelle hasn't seen a lot of ring time.

And now that's she's back in the ring at mainly house shows, you have to wonder if the WWE writing staff really knows what to do with her.

There was talk of a possible heel turn awhile back, but that remains to be seen.

And there was also talk of Candice putting on a few pounds and looking kinda outta shape.

But I don't see any evidence of that in any photos I've seen.

So will she be drafted to SmackDown! or stay on Raw.

I'm gonna say she'll stay on the Raw flagship.

I also think a heel turn might be likely.

But Candice, even without a lot of ring time on TV, is still one of the (if not the) most recognizable WWE Divas to the general public.

So a heel turn might not be a good idea as far as image goes.

Then again, when Mickie James was a heel, everyone loved her.

The WWE's bottom line is.... which is gonna sell more tickets, Candice as a heel or face?

Personally, I think Candice as a heel is great.

And can you imagine the heat a Candice Michelle / Maryse tag team would get?

WWE Diva Victoria's Birthday!

You know I couldn't let this one go unnoticed.
Today is Former (sniff) WWE Diva Victoria's Birthday!

Yes one of the most talented Divas to grace the WWE was born on February 10, 1971 in San Bernardino, California on this date.
Of course I've made it no secret that her leaving the WWE saddened me, even though I really could understand it.
WWE missed so many good opportunities with her.
The Mickie James / Victoria tag team, both in Psycho mode would have been so great.
Or a war of the Psychos with the two going at it.
Or a Beth Phoenix / Victoria feud.
Or Victoria as Diva's champion, the modern day version of a gunslinger picking off upstarts.

But you cant change the past, you can only move forwards.
And I wish Victoria all the best!
And HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Melina, Beth Phoenix and Victoria's SmackDown! Send Off

Last night on WWE Monday Night Raw they actually had two womens matches.
Real ones for the most part.
But most of it was build up for the Melina / Beth Phoenix match this Sunday at the WWE Royal Rumble.

Michelle McCool said a lot of nice things about Victoria on her WWE blog.

And speaking of Victoria, you can see her farewell speech that wasn't aired Friday night on SmackDown! on WWE.Com
It's pretty sad watching her with tears in her eyes hugging Taz and JR goodbye, shaking hands with the fans and blowing kisses.
She even did the old "Psycho" move before she exited.

And speaking of JR, over at his blog JRsBarBQ.com.,he seems as upset as I am at the send off the WWE gave Victoria.
After all the time she spent with the WWE. I expected something more, and I'm glad to see Good Old JR agrees with me on that.

More WWE Smackdown Divas

Maria will be facing Maryse this week on WWE Smackdown!.
The winner will get a future shot at the WWE Diva's championship held by Michelle McCool.
People have been ragging Michelle about her limited in ring skill and I can understand that.
But in case you haven't noticed, Michelle and Maryse are both working hard on their performance.
Would I rather see the Divas Champion be someone like Natalya or Victoria?
Of course.
I mean wouldn't it make more sense to have one of them hold the title while women like Brie and Nikki Bella, Maria, Maryse and Michelle work on their game?
The Old Westerns had it right.
The experienced gunfighter taking on all the upstarts till one of them finally gets good enough to take him out.
I wonder if the WWE would let me write for them?

And now for some WWE Wrestling Rumors....

There's a rumor floating around the WWE that the legendary pro wrestling faction, the Hart Foundation may actually be coming back.
If you recall, a few years ago the idea was pitched and Chris Benoit was working with some of the members getting them ready.
Slam Wrestling brought the idea back up in an interview with WWE Smackdown Diva Natalya, whose reply was "You'll just have to wait and see.".

PWinsider.com is reporting that rumors are also floating around about WWE Diva Victoria retiring and actually having given the WWE a retirement date.
I think I mentioned that back in October.
Yeah I did.
Since I'm so good at predicting the future...." VICTORIA WILL NOT RETIRE AND SHE WILL BECOME THE NEW WWE WOMEN'S WRESTLING CHAMPION!"
Let's see how that does.....

Also, WWE Diva's Women Champion Michelle McCool has stated that her "Wings of Love"(a lifting sitout double underhook facebuster) finishing move was banned by the WWE.

Survivor Series: Raw Divas vs. SmackDown Divas

Last Night the Raw Divas faced the Smackdown Divas in a Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Match.
I thought it was a solid event, but the fans there didn't seem to think so.
I mean really, you had 3 women in there that can barely wrestle. You work with what you have.
Low point...Victoria getting eliminated first.
Aww come on! (Yes I was angry about that.)
High points...Natalya locking the Sharpshooter on Candice Michelle and Candice tapping out to a figure four by Maryse.
Stop!
A figure four leglock by Maryse?
Anyway it was down to Maryse and Beth, and Beth put it to bed with a Glam Slam that took out Maryse.
Let me confess, I really don't hold Maryse in high regard as a wrestler, but she made a good effort.
So the winners were the Raw Divas led by WWE Women's Wrestling Champion Beth Phoenix.
Now....what about a WWE Raw Divas versus TNA Knockouts match....?

Friday night on WWE Smackdown, Michelle McCool and Maria went up against Maryse and Natalya in a women's tag team wrestling match.
Maryse and Natalya won via a DDT from Maryse.
After the match Maryse and Natalya put the beatdown on Michelle.
The beautiful Eve Torres also appeared, interviewing Jeff Hardy in a segment.

WWE Diva Updates: Beth Phoenix, Trish Stratus and Candice Michelle

WWE Womens Wrestling Champion Beth Phoenix didn't break her nose on WWE Raw Monday night, it was just bloodied in her match with Kelly Kelly.



For all you Canadian readers, the Trish Stratus PR machine will be rolling Friday morning as she will be on CTV’s Canada AM promoting her new show The Stratusphere.



And finally, Candice Michelle, Batista and Shelton Benjamin are in Denver, CO for the Democratic National Convention. The WWE is really pushing the vote, and getting media coverage from CNN and others news stations.

Beth Phoenix returned to WWE RAW last night subbing for an "injured" Melina in a tag team wrestling match with Jillian Hall against Candice Michelle and Mickie James.
It was really good to see Beth back in action, since I've always liked her. And she looked really pumped and in great shape last night.
But now Beth's a heel, teaming with Melina and Jillian Hall.
Does that mean Katie Lea isn't far behind to even the odds?

I still long for a Beth/Victoria feud......
