New NXT Diva Carmella

On WWE NXT on October 16th, 2014, new NXT Diva Carmella made her in ring debut.
She defeated Indy wrestler Leva Bates (who was wearing what I think was a modified X-Men uniform) in fairly short order.

Carmella's real name is Leah Van Damme-Dale and she was born on October 23rd, 1987 in Worcester, Massachusetts.
She was both a New England Patriots cheerleader and a Los Angeles Laker Girl.
Carmella has also appeared in Muscle and Fitness, Esquire, Maxim.

She has a pretty killer modified head scissors submission that she used on Leva, which makes use of her long, powerful legs.
Carmella is a fitness instructor and personal trainer...so yeah she has pretty strong legs.
Has anyone else noticed the Divas seem to be getting a lot more fit in the past few years?

We just got over losing Gail Kim, and now "The French Canadian Beauty" Maryse Ouellet has left the WWE Divas ranks.
She was released from her WWE contract on October 28, 2011 and that caught a lot of people off guard.
Maryse has been with the WWE since 2006 and disregarding some storylines where they basically underused her, she had shown a lot of improvement.
For a former Miss Hawaiian Tropic Canada, she was fairly decent in the ring, but she had great mike skills.
And she had the blond heel role down pretty pat.
You know you CAN thrive in the WWE with no so great wrestling ability as long as you can get the crowd going.
::cough:: John Cena ::cough::

Now where will Marsye go?
I hate to say that she won't go to TNA since I was dead wrong about that with Gail Kim.
But I really can't see it.
The only way I could see Maryse at TNA would be as a Karen Jarrett type character.

I'm gonna guess that the blond beauty will aim more for modeling and acting.
Kinda like Stacy Keibler.
We saw how well that went.
Of course Stacy is dating George Clooney now.
I think George has this Elvis thing about female wrestlers.
Mark my words.

Andreia Brazier and Mickie James - Separated at Birth?

Okay, this really has nothing to do with anything, but when I ran across this picture I thought "Wow...she could be Mickie James' younger sister!"
The lady in question is fitness model Andreia Brazier from Brazil.
I really think TNA should look into signing this girl even if she can't wrestle.
Hey, the WWE Divas do it all the time, why not TNA?



Can you imagine Mickie and Andreia holding the TNA Knockouts Tag Team Championships?
I know this totally flies against my dislike of models in wrestling, but I'm allowed this one okay?

While the WWE was having their Night Of Champions PPV in Buffalo New York, TNA had their standard house show in my (adopted) home state in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.
The TNA Knockouts match was Winter taking on Mickie James for the TNA Knockouts title.
Where the WWE Divas match at the Night Of Champions had Kelly (a joke) taking on Beth Phoenix (an actual wrestler), TNA's match had two ladies that have a combined 22 years of in ring experience.
Mickie has been wrestling since 1999 and Winter since 2000.
And of course that showed as the Knockouts match was better than any Divas match in the WWE.
Of course Winter was accompanied by Angelina Love who actively interfered in the match at several points.
The end came when Angelina held Mickie so that Winter could spit (blood?) in her face, Mickie ducked and Winter hit Angelina.
The ref (Earl Hebner) focused on Angelina, so Winter spit more red stuff into Mickie's face and got the cover and the win.

Snooki Wins At Wrestlemania

Well Wrestlemania XXVII is now in the books and everyone seems to be flipping out about Snooki scoring the pin in the Snooki, Trish Stratus and John Morrison versus Dolph Ziggler and LayCool with Vickie Guerrero match.

She did two handsprings, a cartwheel and a splash.
I'm guessing maybe 50% (or more) of the readers out there could pull off the same moves with a weeks instructions.
And that's not counting the ones out there that already can.

I imagine Michelle McCool's fans are feeling the same way that I felt that night K-Fed pinned John Cena.
(No I'm not letting that go!)
The two time WWE Unified Divas Championship and two time WWE Women's Championship beaten by a four foot nine reality star, using a finishing move that Molly Holly used to use as a transition move.

Heck, why didn't they just go all out and have Snooki take out Michelle with "The People's Elbow" or "The Big Leg"?

Actually "The Big Leg" would have been more fitting.

PWI's Top Ten Female Wrestlers - November 12th

Well the G.L.O.R.Y. site itself is being updated, so that's something.

But I checked the TNA Roster page this AM...and I saw no listing for Awesome Kong.

Female Wrestling News - Lisa Marie Varon, Mickie James, Gail Kim and More

TNA Knockout Tara (WWE's Victoria and aka Lisa Marie Varon) is still having a war of words with female MMA fighter Kim Couture.
I did a write up about it today on my Female MMA blog here.

Is Lilian Garcia really leaving WWE?
LOL...well they keep saying she is.
Right now a possible replacement for Lilian is FCW star Angela Fong.
I guess we will wait and see.

And speaking of FCW, I was wondering who FCW wrestler and valet "Candy Girl" was.
Well now I know.
And not because of a good thing.
Candy Girl (or "Liviana") was arrested on Sunday, June 14, 2009 on charges of Driving under the Influence.
Her real name, by the way, is Karlee Leliani Perez and she's a Tampa-based model.
The WWE and models.
Vince, look at Shimmer's roster.
Hire some wrestlers!
Geez!

And if the WWEs PG look is bothering you, blame John Cena.
Yes, Cena evidently campaigned for the new look.
Now if they would just get off the "look" and focus more on wrestling ability.

And just what happened in the infamous "Mickie James-Gail Kim" match last week on Raw?
Other than the surreal finish that is.
TWNP News reported that Mickie was "chewed out by management backstage at Raw on Monday as a result of how she reacted when her match with Gail Kim fell apart" and that Gail was "Kim was indeed out of it towards the end of the match, thus explaining why it fell apart. She was treated backstage during the show, but it was said to not be serious. "
Her condition wasn't serious?
What happened?
Was it because of that messed up cross body earlier?
Concussion maybe?

And I guess everyone knows that the new ECW Diva Courtney Taylor is actually Beverly Mullins from FCW (aka Daisy, aka Wesley Holiday).

FCW seems to be getting a lot of play these days huh?

WWE Diva Updates

All WWE Diva news today...

Last night on WWE RAW they had a "Mayweather Melee" pitting Mickie James, Kelly Kelly and Gail Kim against Beth Phoenix, Rosa Mendes and Alicia Fox.
The gimmick here is that all the girls wore boxing gear.
Of course this was done in honor of Floyd Mayweather being on the show.
Beth Phoenix, Rosa Mendes and Alicia Fox won after Alicia nailed Mickie with a scissors kick.
(It was nice to see Beth in another match.)

Actually, I know it's kinda weird but I sorta liked this gimmick match.
Maybe it's because the Diva matches I used to play on my "SmackDown! vs. RAW" games were actually like this.
Despite the "boxing" theme they were actually wearing MMA gloves and (I usually try to refrain from saying this) and I actually think they looked hotter in their gimmick outfits.
I know awhile back Vince talked about leaning more towrads MMA style matches at one time.
Some of the Divas have martial arts training.
Maybe Vince was looking at how a MMA style match would go over.
After all, MMA is knocking on the WWE's door really loud.
I wonder how a MMA/Pro wrestling hybrid style would work for the WWE?


Moving on, They had a short segment with Jillian Hall and Vince where she was dressed as Marylin Monroe and doing the "Happy Birthday Mr. Preisdent " thing.
Way to use a lady with 11 years wrestling experience guys.

I'm sorry readers, but TNA just dropped down to the WWE's level in my eyes.
The New TNA Knockouts champion is.....Cody Deaner?
There's a three letter internet term that comes to mind for this that starts with a "W".
Spanking, kissing, making out.....c'mon people!
I held TNA up to a higher level.
Is this the new TNA booking?
So what am I to do now?
A steady diet of Shimmer?
Wait for Wrestlicious? (Okay, it's 21st century GLOW but still.)
I am shocked and appalled.
And kinda let down and betrayed.
Arguably the best womens division out there and THIS is what they come up with?
After I kept singing the praises of TNA?

The Female Wrestlers of Florida Championship Wrestling

April Mendes

Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) is the training ground for the WWE.
And like the WWE it has it's own divas.

Right now, their Diva roster consists of....

April Mendes (April Jeanette, Miss April)
Unlike a lot of the WWE's Diva prospects, April came in already knowing how to wrestle.
She's worked for wrestling promotions like Victory Pro Wrestling(VPW), National Wrestling Superstars (NWS), and American Championship Entertainment (ACE) as well as the all-female promotion Women Superstars Uncensored (WSU).
At WSU, she held the WSU Tag Team Championship with Brooke Carter.

Beverly (Beverly Mullins, Daisy,Wesley Holliday)
Beverly is a former Hooters Girl.
She may be making the jump to the main roster soon, as she has been involved in several dark matches for Raw and SmackDown!.
Although she was just the valet of Alex Riley, not actually wrestling.

Jenny Cash (Jenny Quinn)
Jenny is a model, wrestler and manager.
Jenny is also known as Fifi, the manager of Le French Men (Caylen Croft and Trent Beretta)
She is currently out of action with a torn ACL.

Penelope Carwin (Jemma Palmer)
English model and professional wrestler and formerly "Inferno" on the British "Gladiators" TV Show.
Although she hasn't had much in ring experience, this girl may be the one to keep an eye on. With the proper promotion, booking and breaks, I can see her as another Beth Phoenix, Victoria or Lita in the future.

Rachael Lynn (Rachael Carr)
British singer, dancer, TV presenter, model and body double.
I've heard rumors that she is already gone.

Serena (Serena Deeb)
Another diva that can actually wrestle.
She has worked for Ohio Valley Wrestling,Pro Wrestling Syndicate, Memphis Championship Wrestling, American Wrestling Rampage, Shimmer Women Athletes and held the OVW Women's Wrestling Championship a record six times.

Angela (Angela Fong)
Canadian born model, actress, valet and occasional wrestler.
For selfish reasons I want her up on the main roster because a Gail Kim / Angela Fong tag team would be so awesome.
Of course the WWE would have to bring back the Women's Tag Team Title....

Candy Girl (Carly)
Candy is an occasional Ring Girl, manager of Sweet Papi Sanchez and sometimes wrestler.

Interview With Female Wrestler Kristin Flake

Wow...when I did my first Q and A with female wrestler Pink, I didn't think the interviews would be that popular.
But then I got another with Juliet the Huntress and now I'm honored to have another with an indy female wrestler who wrestles in my home state...
Today's Q&A is with Kristin Flake, a wrestler in North Carolina.

So without further ado, here it is....

First...how would you like to be addressed?
Kristin Flake....its both my work name and my real name :-)

Where were you born?
Gainesville, Fl.

When were you born?
August 5th

What made you get into wrestling?
I became a fan at the age of 12, and was immediately hooked by the athleticism and spectacle of it all. And knew that I had to get involved.

Who trained you?
I trained with Dory Funk Jr, for a very short time in my teens. I then took several years away for school and to rehab a back injury. When I decided to start full-time in the ring, Kamakazi Kid started training me at the CWF school in Burlington, NC. I also worked there with Jeff Rudd. And I credit Amber O'Neal and Persephone for training me as far as performance at actual shows.

When and where did you make your wrestling debut?
As a valet....at CWF Mid-Atlantic in 2003, I think. As a wrestler....at NWA Mid-Atlantic, in Sept or Oct of 2007.

What's your wrestling style?
Technical.

What type of outfit do you usually wrestle in?
I like to switch things up. Typically you'll see me in something that is pink and black. Sometimes a skirt, others shorts with fishnets. It just depends on my mood that day.

Do you have a gimmick?
I tend to be that sweet innocent face, that is until you make me mad ;-)

What was your biggest win?
Even though it was declared a no contest....I'd hafta say the First Blood match I had back in May of 09. Id never done anything hardcore at all, and it was fun to test my willpower.

What was your worst loss?
Same as biggest win :-)

What's your favorite type of match?
Any match that pushes me to be my best, I love a match that is technical and tells a good story.

Whats your favorite holds moves etc?
I love interesting chain wrestling.

Whats your finishing move?
Front facelock Buster.

TNA - Awesome Kong versus Sojo Bolt

TNA has posted their latest female wrestling match (gotta love them!) between TNA Knockouts Awesome Kong and Sojo Bolt.
You can see it here.



Of course Kong and Sojo can both really wrestle.

Awesome Kong (Kia Stevens) was trained by Jesse Hernandez and the All Japan Women's Inoki L.S. Dojo and she made her pro wrestling debut on October 22nd, 2002.
Pro Wrestling Illustrated ranked her number one in their best 50 female singles wrestlers in the PWI Female 50 in 2008.

Sojournor Bolt, Sojo Bolt (Josette Bynum) was trained by Eddie Sharkey, Eric Priest and Rip Rogers, and made her pro wrestling debut on April 3rd, 2003.

If we are lucky, Sojo and Kong might both wind up in the ring at the Victory Road PPV, since Kong is training Jenna Morasca and Sojo is helping Sharmell.

Interview With Female Wrestler, Juliet the Huntress

One of the really cool things about doing this blog is that I get to meet (online at least) a lot of the fantastic female wrestlers out there.
And here is a beautiful young lady that was gracious enough to do a little Q and A for this blog.....Juliet The Huntress.

Juliet stands 5'5 and weighs in at 120 pounds.

Where were you born?: Chicago, IL

When were you born?: Sept/21

What made you get into wrestling? Basically growing up watching it, and the fact that it's a fighting sport made it an interest. I'm a first generation wrestler, so it pretty much took all of my initiative to get in to this.

Who trained you?: His name is Quique Cruz. He is a well known wrestler in Puerto Rico and Mexico.

When and where did you make your wrestling debut? : Mid 2005, in Puerto Rico, WWC (Worl Wrestling Council)

What's your wrestling style? : My wrestling style is versatile. I adapt to any wrestling style I need to to get the job done.

What type of outfit do you usually wrestle in ?: usually red... long tights and top is the usual...

Do you have a gimmick?: Yes, The Huntress

What was your biggest win?: The IWA Women's Championship Battle Royal in Caguas, Puerto Rico.

What was your worst loss? : Women's Championship Tournament semi-final match against Black Rose.

What's your favorite type of match? : one on one grudge matches

Terri Runnels Interview

Natti Neidhart Delay

Teddy Hart was fired by the WWE yesterday, which means the debut of the new Hart Foundation on Smackdown! has be scrapped.
This also means that Nattie won't be appearing soon either.
Teddy has always been a loose cannon so it's really no suprise.
But I hate taht Nattie wont be involved in a WWE storyline any time soon.
A Natti Neidhart / Beth Phoenix feud would be awesome.

WWE Diva no more: Krissy Vaine

Krissy Vaine the new Diva that debuted on Smackdown and took out Torrie Wilson, has been released from the company.

Krissy had signed a developmental deal with WWE in January 2006, and she had been working in Deep South Wrestling and Florida Championship Wrestling.

Evidently, she and Ryan O'Reilly ( http://beautiful-wrestling.blogspot.com/2007/10/wwe-diva-maryse-ouellet.html ) had a relationship and when Ryan ran into trouble ( WWE Wellness Policy), he decided to leave.

Krissy decided to leave with him.

It's a shame, because Krissy had wrestled in the Indies for a long time, and I think she had great potential in the WWE.
