Vanessa Borne - WWE NXT

No this is not Layla El 2.0
This is Danielle Kamela who works for WWE NXT under the ring name Vanessa Borne.
Besides the physical resemblance, both Layla and Vanessa were dancers (Layla was a Miami Heat dancer and Vanessa was a Phoenix Suns dancer) and models before coming to the WWE.
But where Layla came up through the Diva Search, Vanessa was trained by Rikishi and Gangrel at Knokx Pro Entertainment and made her debut on March 26, 2016.
Less than a month after her debut, she was signed by the WWE.
Although I think that Kairi Sane is going to win the Mae Young Classic, I think we will be seeing more of Vanessa.

Sasha Banks - WWE Women

I haven't done anything for a while on "The Boss"...so here are some shots of beautiful WWE Diva Sasha Banks.
I have been a fan of Sasha's since she was known as Mercedes KV back in her Indy days.
Her real name is Mercedes Kaestner-Varnado and she made her wrestling debut back in 2010 for Chaotic Wrestling, which is based in Woburn, Massachusetts, and also where she trained.
She is a former NXT Women's Champion and hopefully soon a WWE Women's Champion.
Her finishing moves are the Bankrupt (which is a Straight jacket neckbreaker slam) and the Bank Statement (Bridging crossface transitioned from a double knee backbreaker).

Becky Lynch vs Charlotte - SmackDown!

On WWE SmackDown, Becky Lynch took on Charlotte, who was of course accompanied by Dana Brooke.
Charlotte took control and kept it up to the first commercial break and it was a decent match.
Not great but good.
Becky locked in the DisArmHer, which of course was Dana's cue to interfere and cause the disqualification which started a beat down that was broken up when Natalya ran in to help Becky.

I'm glad that the Nature Boy is out of this.
The focus is back on the Divas now.
I hate that Becky's hair has changed.
I guess it was getting to close to the WWE's "Golden Girl" Eva Marie.

Yes she is 39.
Yes she still looks like this.
(Should I put this in wrestling or fitness?)
Although Torrie hasn't been with the WWE since 2008, I wonder what the chances are of her being attached to this alleged new E! Total Divas style TV show with former WWE Divas?

One of the most popular women here on this blog is former WWE Diva Torrie Wilson, and her birthday was Tuesday!
So HAPPY LATE BIRTHDAY TORRIE!

Like I said, even though Torrie retired back in 2008, she is still very popular here.
A lot of that may have to do with the fact that she's (A) Gorgeous, (B) She had a career that spanned nine years from the WCW to the WWE and (C) that she's dating New York Yankees superstar third baseman Alex Rodriguez.
That last one alone keeps her in the news....

Oh yeah...I should have added a (D) That she is STILL in incredible shape despite begin retired for over 4 years.
Heck, she could put on her gear now and climb in the ring and still look as good (if not better) than she did in her WWE days.

Layla El Returns!

On March 22nd, 2012 in a match at FCW (Florida Championship Wrestling), Layla El returned to the ring.
I wondered how long it was gonna take her to get back up to the "Big Leagues" and it wasn't long as she replaced Beth Phoenix in a match for the WWE Divas Championship at the Extreme Rules pay-per-view on April 29th.

That night she took on and defeated Nikki Bella to win the WWE Divas Championship.
The next night on Raw, she took on the departing Bella Twins in a triple threat match and retained the title.

Layla has quite a bit of WWE championship history as she is the first British woman to hold the championship, the first Diva Search winner to win the championship, and the last recognized WWE Women's Champion before they retired that belt.

Former WWE Diva Torrie Wilson is the most popular lady on this blog.
So what's she doing these days?
Well she kinda made headlines when she and New York Yankees boyfriend, Alex Rodriguez showed up at WWE Wrestlemania 28.
And she seems to get a lot of air time when she's in the stands at the Yankees games.
I wonder why?

There were a ton of wrestling superstars at the 2012 WWE Hall of Fame event before WrestleMania XXVIII.
But here is one pairing in particular that was amazing.
Talk about an "Axis of Evil".
Imagine if Maryse decided to come out of retirement and team up with Eve.
They could have a run that would make The Beautiful People and Lay-Cool look tame in comparison.
However, it's only a dream.

Former WWE Diva Melina Updates

As you all probably already know by now, WWE Diva Melina was released from her contract with WWE on August 5, 2011.
Not being one to just sit around, Melina is already schedualed to take on another former WWE Diva Serena Deeb, on November 19th at the Womens' Superstars Unleashed iPPV at the ACE Arena in Union City, NJ.

Well of course everyone is expecting a TNA run, with Melina joining Brooke Tessmacher (Brooke Adams), Jackie Moore, Mickie James Mickie James, Tara (Victoria/Lisa Marie Varon) and Winter (Katarina Waters) and becoming one of the TNA Knockouts.

Mickie James Versus Tara - Turning Point

Well I guess now Mickie James is firmly entrenched in TNA.
The former WWE Diva turned TNA Knockout will be facing another former WWE Diva turned Knockout Tara at the TNA PPV Turning Point on November 7th.

Tara is allegedly angry at Mickie, because she thinks that Mickie had something to do with Tara's WWE release.
Of course this is all storyline because Tara (Victoria) left the WWE back in January 2009 on her own terms.
But you need something to fuel the fire right?

One thing I have noticed since Mickie has arrived on TNA, is that the "Piggy James" thing has been laid to rest.
TNA seems to be celebrating Mickie's voluptuousness.
Look at her "Daisy Dukes" and tied off plaid shirt wrestling gear.
And another thing I have noticed, is that the fans (mainly the male ones) seem to be firmly behind the curvy look.

You have to admit, back in the old days, you didn't see model thin ladies duking it out in the ring.
And you wont see that with the shapely Mickie and Tara going at it in the ring.

Why Isn't Maryse Wrestling?

One of the most popular women on this blog is WWE Diva Maryse.
Okay, she's THE most popular woman here, so why isn't the WWE doing anything with her?
Did she make the higher ups mad?
Is she injured?
Why is the former two time holder of the WWE Divas Championship regulated to little more than Ted DiBiase's valet?

Is this the best we're gonna get from "The Sultry Diva" now?



Yeah I know, when did I suddenly care when one of the "models turned wrestler" isn't involved in competition?
But as I have stated before Maryse, Michelle McCool and Kelly have worked on their ring skills.
And even if she's not one of the best wrestlers the WWE has, she is a really good heel.

Aloisia's Replacement - Kaitlyn

Here's the replacement for the giant Aloisia, Kaitlyn, also known as Celeste Bonin or Ricki Vaughn
I'll be interested to see how she does in the ring.
She seems to be doing pretty well with her character so far.
And the internet seems to like her.

WWE NXT Goes FCW Divas

It looks like the WWE will finally have an all female wrestling show.
Kinda.
Season 3 of WWE NXT will be all FCW Divas.
Allegedly SyFy was ready to pull the plug on the show because it was getting lower ratings than ECW had during it's run.
But someone figured out.....
"Hey...let's use beautiful women!"
Wow, you guys are quick.

Okay I'll stop complaining and take a look at the FCW Divas that will be competing...


Without a doubt, the Diva that's gonna attract the most attention is Aloisia, who you may know from the Indy wrestling promotions as Isis the Amazon.
Yes this woman lives up to that name at six foot nine.
Yes...six...foot...nine.
Even if she doesn't win the competition, I expect the WWE to pull a "Diva Search" and hire her anyway.

UPDATE: It looks like Aloisia has been removed from the line up.

The NXT ring announcer Jamie Keyes will be stepping into the ring as well.
Jamie's real name is Brittany Beede and she was born on December 31st, 1984 in Saraosota, Florida.

AJ Lee's real name is April Jeanette, and she was born on March 19, 1987 in Union City, New Jersey.
She has held the Queen of FCW title in Florida Championship Wrestling.


Next up is Aksana who is Lithuanian fitness model, bodybuilder Zivile Raudoniene.
Aksana was born on April 29, 1982 in Lithuania.
This five foot five, one hundred and thirty pound competitor has had first place finishes at the 2006 NPC Metropolitan, the NPC Pittsburgh, the 2007 IFBB New York Pro and the 2009 Arnold Classic.


Naomi Night's real name is Trinity McCray, and she too has held the Queen of FCW title.
Before wrestling, Naomi was a cheerleader with the Orlando Magic.
The WWE signed her in 2009.

Maxine, formerly known as Liviana in FCW (Karlee Perez), will also be competing.

It looks like this will be the last cycle of NXT unless the numbers go way up.

UPDATE: Since Aloisia is gone, will we get Ricki Vaughn or Christina Fox to replace her?

Melina Versus Alicia Fox at Summer Slam

You probably already know that the SummerSlam WWE ppv is August 15, 2010 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.
Among the featured wrestling matches will be a Divas match for the WWE Divas Championship between Melina (the challenger) and Alicia Fox (the champion).
This will be the first time this title has been defended at Summer Slam.

Maybe the WWE will end this farce and put the belt back into the hands of an actual wrestler.
The only thing I have against this match is the lack of build up.
Melina returned to the WWE on August 2nd on RAW, jumped Alicia and now she already has a title shot.
Less than two weeks build up?
I know Melina is a fan favorite, and she has the skills, mike and in ring.
But shouldn’t they have aimed for a bit more of a build up?
I guess I am just spoiled from "back in the day" when feuds had months of build up.

UPDATE:
Well the WWE did give Melina the WWE Diva's belt as she beat Alicia Fox at last night's SummerSlam.
Best part of the match to me:
It looks like Melina injures her knee early in the match...so Alicia goes to work on her arm.
Brilliant!

And afterwards, Team Lay-Cool interrupted Melina's victory celebration with a one sided beat down.

Wrestling Rumors and News - Sable, Mickie James, Michelle McCool and More....

Two former WWE divas have cleared the 90 day no-compete clauses on their contracts and should be able to work for other wrestling promotions.

One is Katie Lea Burchill.
This young lady is beautiful and talented and needs to be in a ring.
If TNA would treat their Knockouts right, I'd say she would be a great fit there.

And Mickie James has cleared her 90 day mark, but I thought she had already been wrestling for the World Wrestling Council (WWC), one Puerto Rico's two main professional wrestling promotions.
Maybe the clause only applies to the continental US.

Speaking of former WWE Divas, former WWE Diva Torrie Wilson turned 35 on July 24th.
Happy (Late) Birthday Torrie!

And another former WWE Diva and Women's Champion Rena Mero (Sable) gave birth to a nine pound boy this past Wednesday (7-21-2010), according to www.renamerofans.com.
This is her second child with husband Brock Lesnar, and her third total.
