WWE Diva Gail Kim and Robert Irvine?
Rumor has it that WWE Diva Gail Kim (who? LOL...I know) is engaged to celebrity chef Robert Irvine.
Well it's not so much a rumor as Tammy "Sunny" Sytch (now a WWE Hall of Fame member) said on her Facebook account that a WWE Diva would be getting married soon and Gail and Robert were together at the WrestleMania 27 weekend and the Hall of Fame.
(Why not? They sure didn't let Gail wrestle!)
This is what Tammy said...
"Can't believe one of my favorite WWE Divas in marrying one of my favorite Food Network chefs!!"
"Man, is she a lucky girl! All that amazing food, all the time!!!"
So who is this Robert Irvine person that's gonna marry Gail?
Well if you watch the Food Network you know.
And if you don't...dude is a beast!
You don't expect chefs to be that big, but this former member of the Royal Navy is.
Oddly enough, Wikipedia (I know...it's Wikipedia but still...) lists Robert as being married since at least 1998.
Robert recently told ESPN that the two will be getting married in the Spring.
UPDATE:
And so they did.....

Monday Night Raw Divas Battle Royal
On Monday Night Raw this Monday, Brie Bella won a Divas Battle Royal to become the new number one contender to the WWE Divas Title.
Alicia got tossed out first, then Tamina, then Natalya and Melina eliminated each other, then Maryse went out, then Nikki and Brie comes out from underneath the ring to toss Gail Kim out and win.
Eve (who was on comentary) sees this and goes after Brie.
But Nikki was still there and they both start a beatdown on Eve till the refs pull them apart.
So it looks like the big WWE Divas Championship rivalry will be Eve and Brie.
Yay.

Taylor Wilde Calls It Quits

Former TNA Knockout, Taylor Wilde has called it quits.
Taylor (whose real name is Shantelle Larissa Malawski) was born on January 26, 1986 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
She was trained by Rob "El Fuego" Etcheverria (Squared Circle Training) and Bill DeMott (Deep South Wrestling)
Taylor made her pro wrestling debut in June 2003 at the age of seventeen under the name Shantelle Taylor and was featured on the Discovery Channel's documentary Slam Bam in 2004.
Also on that show was Tiana Ringer, and you may recall when Taylor (Shantelle) hit Tiana with a cross body press, Tiana botched it and got a concussion.
After that, Taylor went on to work for wrestling promotions like Shimmer Women Athletes, Blood Sweat and Ears, Pure Wrestling Association and Twin Wrestling Entertainment among others.
She even spent some time in Mexico as a luchadora and went on a three show tour of South Africa.
In 2006, Taylor was signed by the WWE and sent to Deep South Wrestling (DSW) and then Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW).
For awhile, she wrestled masked as San-Eye.
She was released by the WWE on August 13, 2007, and decided to devote her time not to wrestling, but to a college degree.
But that didn't last long as she soon had a tryout match for TNA Wrestling and on May 8th, 2008, was signed to a contract.
In TNA she held both the TNA Women's Knockout Championship (once) and the TNA Knockout Tag Team Championship (twice, once with Sarita and once with Hamada).
Doing that made Taylor the first wrestler to hold both the belts.
On December 29th, 2010, Taylor confirmed that she had left TNA and on January 10th, 2011, she announced that she was leaving wrestling.
She had her retirement match on February 5, 2011, at a ChickFight and Pro Wrestling Revolution promotion in San Francisco, California and she lost her retirement match to another former TNA Knockout, Alissa Flash (Cheerleader Melissa).
Besides saying that she will be working on her psychology studies, she will also be marrying her boyfriend Oliver Mitchell.

The Top Ten Female Wrestlers of 2010
With 2010 winding down quickly and 2011 right around the corner, who were the most popular women on this blog this year?
The answers might surprise you...
10. Natalya
Coming in at number ten, we have the current WWE Divas Champion.
I don't think anyone out there doesn't think she deserves it either.
She and Beth just defeated Lay-Cool in the first ever Diva's Tag Team Tables match in WWE history.
9. Madison Rayne
This three time TNA Women's Knockout Champion comes in at number nine.
Is it just me, or does she kinda resemble Molly Holly at some angles?
8. Jillian Hall
Yet another former WWE Diva and one with enough wrestling cred to rival Beth Phoenix.
One of my favorite wrestling rumors at the moment is that maybe she will go to TNA and do something besides sing.
7. Mickie James
Another former WWE Diva, now on the TNA Roster, Mickie is going strong over there at the "other" wrestling promotion.
6. Beth Phoenix
The return of the woman I consider to be one of the best actual wrestlers out there today made a lot of fans happy.
But why do I keep thinking we'll see her turn on Natayla soon?
5. Christy Hemme
A huge surge in popularity for the former WWE Diva and current TNA Knockout.
Possibly because she wants to get back into the ring?
4. Michelle McCool
The two time WWE Divas Champion and WWE Women's Champion, the Pro Wrestling Illustrated number one ranked female wrestler in the world for 2010 and the two time 2010 Slammy winner Mrs. Undertaker only managed to make it to number four.
3. Torrie Wilson
WCW and WWF beauty Torrie Wilson came in at number three, making the second woman in the top ten that's not even wrestling anymore.
2. Chyna
A big surprise to me is that "The Ninth Wonder of the World" came in at number two.
Joan Laurer may be having a bad time, but the fans still love their Chyna Doll.
1. Maryse
Without a doubt, the Canadian born blond was number one here.
I'm really glad that they have finally let her get back into the ring and actually wrestle some.

PWI's Top Ten Female Wrestlers - November 12th
Over at the PWI (Pro Wrestling Illustrated) Ratings at PWI.com, for the period ending November 12, 2010, these are the top ten female wrestlers....

The WWE's Natalya
1. Natalya
2. Mercedes Martinez
3. Madison Rayne
4. Madison Eagles
5. Angel Orsini
6. Mickie James
7. Jessicka Havok
8. Layla El
9. Tina San Antonio
10. Marti Belle
Interesting here is that the WWE only has two female wrestlers in the top ten, and TNA has two.
The other six are all from Indy wrestling promotions (although Mercedes did do Maria Toro in Wrestlicious).
Speaking of Indy promotions, I headed over to G.L.O.R.Y.'s Hot 100 chart, to find it hasn't been updated since July 25th, 2010?
Well the G.L.O.R.Y. site itself is being updated, so that's something.

The Top Ten Female Wrestlers for September 2010
I haven't done a Top Ten female wrestlers list here in awhile, so I thought I'd do a ten best of the best here on this blog.
Really, it's kind of interesting to me what womens wrestlers are popular because it's not always who you'd think.
And it also shows one wrestling promotion's pretty much total domination of the ranks.
Guess which one.

Maryse, WWE.com
1. Maryse
Yes she is hands down the winner.
The absolutely most searched for lady here.
And it appears I'm not the only one that thinks she is being totally misused at the moment by the WWE, check out Renee Gerber's article over at Bleacher Report.
2. Gail Kim
Another talented young lady that’s being sadly underused by the WWE.
Former WWE Womens's Champ and Former TNA Knockout Champ.
And what is she doing now?
3. Candice Michelle
Not even a Diva anymore, but strong enough to show up at number 3.
4. Mickie James
Again, another former WWE Diva in at number 4.
Now she's a TNA Knockout.
But for how long....?
5. Melina
Really, the woman that should have the WWE Unified Divas Championship belt around her waist.
At least I think so.
6. Layla
Probably one of the most beautiful Divas out of the whole bunch.
And one half of The Beautiful...I mean Lay-Cool.
7. Christy Hemme
Former TNA Knockout and current backstage interviewer for TNA.
8. Michelle McCool
PWI's Female Wrestler of the year and the WWE Unified Divas Champion.
And yes a lot of people think that's because she's "Mrs. Undertaker".
9. Torrie Wilson
Former WWE Diva for what, over 2 years now?
But still in at number nine.
10. Beth Phoenix
And finally one of the best women that the WWE has on the roster.
I really cannot wait to see her get back in the ring.
Honorable Mention:
Trish Stratus
Victoria (Tara didn't rank, it was Victoria everyone wanted to see)
Velvet Sky
Maria
Chyna

Michelle McCool, The Best in 2009?

Pro Wrestling Illustrated (PWI) is getting ready to release their annual "PWI Female 50" list, that ranks the top 50 female wrestlers in wrestling promotions in North America.
Well last year everyone was pretty much in agreement (I think) that Mickie James deserved the number one slot.
But this year number one has been leaked before the list comes out (on September 7th) and it's already started some controversy.
This years number one is none other than Michelle McCool.
Even PWI admits it's a questionable decision because of her relationship with The Undertaker (they got married in June if you hadn't heard), her stealing the Faithbreaker from AJ Styles (although AJ himself said he was flattered she took the move), Team Lay-Cool being a rip off of The Beautiful People and generally Michelle's rumored arrogant and condescending attitude.
But according to PWI, Michelle was the first woman in WWE history to hold both the WWE Divas and the WWE Women's championships, in 2009, she scored pin fall victories over Melina, Gail Kim, and Mickie James, from July 1, 2009, through June 30, 2010, she held (and co-held) the WWE Women’s championship for 325 of 365 days.
You know....I thought the PWI list was about talent.
All of Michelle's accomplishments they list are because the writers wrote that.
If the writers wanted it, Tiffany could pin Melina, Gail and Beth Phoenix all at once, and hold both the Divas and Womens titles at the same time.
She could go on a tear like Goldberg and go undefeated for a year.
Now don't think I am totally downing Michelle here, she's come a long way since the 2004 WWE Diva Search.
But I'd like to see PWI rank their wrestlers because of in-ring ability, mike skills etc.
Not because of who they know.

Wrestling Rumors and News - Sable, Mickie James, Michelle McCool and More....
Two former WWE divas have cleared the 90 day no-compete clauses on their contracts and should be able to work for other wrestling promotions.
One is Katie Lea Burchill.
This young lady is beautiful and talented and needs to be in a ring.
If TNA would treat their Knockouts right, I'd say she would be a great fit there.
And Mickie James has cleared her 90 day mark, but I thought she had already been wrestling for the World Wrestling Council (WWC), one Puerto Rico's two main professional wrestling promotions.
Maybe the clause only applies to the continental US.
Speaking of former WWE Divas, former WWE Diva Torrie Wilson turned 35 on July 24th.
Happy (Late) Birthday Torrie!
And another former WWE Diva and Women's Champion Rena Mero (Sable) gave birth to a nine pound boy this past Wednesday (7-21-2010), according to www.renamerofans.com.
This is her second child with husband Brock Lesnar, and her third total.
St. Augustine.com has an article and interview up with WWE Diva Michelle McCool...
Michelle McCool is a Diva, but only to the rest of the world.
"My life's not really completely different," McCool said.
The 30-year-old Palatka native, known internationally as half of the reigning WWE Women's Champion team and a WWE Diva, said it's hard for her to see the celebrity others see in her.
http://staugustine.com/living/2010-07-24/life-and-out-ring
As part of the SummerSlam promo, 7-Eleven will be issuing five collectible Super Big Gulp fountain drink cups, and one of them will feature WWE Diva Eve.
Eve?
Interesting.
Alex Marvez has an article and interview up with former TNA Knockout ODB / Jessie Kresa...
TNA Wrestling's "Knockout" division doesn't have the same punch without Jessie "ODB" Kresa.
A three-time TNA women's champion, Kresa was released in June. Kresa was one of the company's top female performers from 2007 to 2009. But her saucy character -- ODB's in-ring antics could make even Roseanne Barr in her prime blush -- and public outspokenness about storyline direction caused Kresa to fall out of favor with the new Eric Bischoff/Hulk Hogan management regime.
http://www.scrippsnews.com/node/55341
And finally, a really good article over at The Bleacher Report by Tom Clark about the state of women's wrestling in the WWE and TNA...
Women's Wrestling: WWE and TNA's Lack of Focus
Women‘s wrestling. At one time considered a novelty act in the business, women’s wrestling over the last 10 years has evolved into a more legitimate part of the sport.
Once, fans turned the channel when the women’s match started. But thanks to a handful of standouts in the women’s division, fans instead began tuning in.

Wrestling Rumors and News - Maryse, Mickie James, Michelle McCool and more

What?
No Lay-Cool photo shoot?
When she left the WWE, I thought Mickie James was changing from wrestling to her musical career, but it looks like she's gonna keep a foot in the ring as she will be making appearances for the wrestling promotions World Wrestling Council (WWC), Maryland Championship Wrestling (MCW) and International Wrestling Cartel (IWC).
Speaking of released WWE Divas, you probably already know that the WWE released NXT season announcer and WWE Diva Savannah (Angela Fong).
The reason is allegedly because she messed up her lines on RAW while interviewing Wade Barrett.
Boy, it doesn't take a lot for a Diva to get released does it?
Remember when Maria screwed up during an interview and it was worked into her character?
AJ Lee (April Jeanette, a developmental wrestler from Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW)) has been taking on the role of hostess at a few recent WWE events.
So maybe AJ is getting ready to move up in the ranks?
And in female wrestling news NOT related to WWE, former TNA Knockout Sojo Bolt (Josette Bynum) appeared on Wrestlicious Takedown Saturday as CoCo Montego.
She teamed up with Marley (Daizee Haize) to take on Naughty Girls (Portia Perez and Nicole Matthews).

Wrestling News and Rumors: Awesome Kong, Velvet Sky, Traci Brooks and More

http://www.tnawrestling.com/
Is Awesome Kong still in TNA?
Well as of right now yes.
According to just about every source on the Web, Kong requested her release from TNA, but TNA denied it.
Where I thought this had to do with the Bubba the Love Sponge incident, it seems it goes deeper.
Kong appears to be upset over the amount of money the wrestling promotion is shelling out for new talent, while they tell her and the other Knockouts they cant get raises.
You know TNA, this is a really good way to lose talent.
Yeah Kong and the others can still wrestle for you, but they can also sleepwalk through wrestling matches, and give lackluster performances.
The last thing TNA needs is a mass exodus of female wrestling talent to the WWE.
Youve already lost Trenesha Biggers (Rhaka Khan), Lauren Brooke, Josette Bynum (Sojo Bolt), Jacqueline Moore, Jenna Morasca, Sharmell Sullivan-Huffman and Alissa Flash (Cheerleader Melissa) in about a years time.
Okay some were not that big of a loss, but some were.
Excessive turnover is not a good thing for the fans.
Pay these "veterans" what they are worth and get that TNA Knockout show (that you have been talking about since 2008) up and running.

http://www.tnawrestling.com/
And in other TNA Knockout news, Madison Rayne and Velvet Sky will both be appearing in an upcoming issue of the UK's FHM Magazine.
They did a shoot while they were on the recent tour of England.
Unfortunately Lacey Von Erich wasn't in the photoshoot because she didnt go.
You may recall that Angelina Love and Velvet were in a Muscle and Fitness magazine awhile back.

http://www.tnawrestling.com/
One of the biggest (if not the biggest ) wrestling rumors at the moment is the Traci Brooks / Frankie Kazarian story.
I really am not gonna go into all that here.
I just wanted an excuse to post this pic of Traci in a blue bikini from TNA.

And in other news, my friends over at at Lethalwow.com did their top female wrestlers of 2009 list, and Mercedes Martinez won the 2009 Wrestler of the year award.
Tara won for best TNA star, Melina won RAW Wrestler of the Year and Michelle McCool won Smackdown! Wrestler of the Year.
Out of their Top 25, their top ten picks were:
1) Mercedes Martinez
2) Michelle McCool
3) Amazing Kong
4) Melina Perez
5) Tara
6) Angelina Love
7) Mickie James
8) Sarah Del Rey
9) Angel Orsini
10) ODB

Female Wrestling Updates, Lacey Von Erich, Awesome Kong, Angelina Love and Mickie James

The question " Lacey Von Erich is hot, but can she wrestle?" may be causing some trouble at TNA.
www.prowrestling.net is reporting that not only did Lacey trip and fall when she tried to do a run in at the Knockouts Elimination wrestling match on iMPACT! two weeks ago, (hey, everyone makes mistakes right?), but while training at the Impact! Zone, she injured a hamstring and proceded to act like a "Diva" as she complained loudly all night that she was in pain.
Then she told a male trainer to get her some ice, which lead to said training walking in on a half dressed Awesome Kong who wasn't happy.
Evidently she grabbed Lacey and took her to the trainer's room where she let Lacey have it, with Kurt Angle watching.
Lacey wasn't happy about this and went to TNA management to complain, and they sided with Kong.
Lacey had better watch her step or she'll be looking at Wrestlicious as the highlight of her wrestling career.
And if I were her, I wouldn't be getting on the wrong side of the Awesome one.

And former TNA Knockout Angelina Love mad a surprise appearance at Live Pro Wrestling's "Halloween Massacre" wrestling show on October 25th.
Originally it was reported that Angelina wouldnt be able to appear at the show, but she did.
You can see pictures from the event here:
http://wrestlingfigs.com/inner2.php?id=13784&page_id=1
By the way, TNA has some Halloween Knockouts photos posted at their site here:
http://www.tnawrestling.com/content/view/1768/84/
As far as I can tell it's a Wizard of Oz theme.
You gotta admit, Tara looks better as the Wicked Witch of the West than she did a ....banana?

Mickie James seems to be going full steam ahead on her singing career, as she has hired Nashville-based image Image Consultant Lori Bumgarner to manage her career.
You can check out Lori's homepage here:
