Like comics?
Like wrestling?
Well there's always been a few books around that combine the two, the first one that springs to mind is the pro wrestling in Love and Rockets by Los Bros Hernandez.
Imagine how happy I was to find an online comic that deals with this.
Yes.... online.
" Rival Angels" is an online comic done by Alan Evans (Albone), who I ran into on Stumble Upon.
But enough of me yakking, I asked him to write a bit about his site and he kindly did.....
" Rival Angels follows the story of Sabrina `Ultragirl' Mancini and her three roommates in the fight of their lives as they battle the best wrestlers in the world. It takes a look at the personal and professional rivalries that emerge in trying to succeed in their career as well as doing their best not to kill each other at home.
Rival Angels begins with Sabrina being 'called up' from the minor leagues into the professional division of wrestling and nothing is ever the same again. Many established and rookie wrestlers are resentful over this move, seeing it as a way to increase merchandise sales at their expense. Sabrina also have to deal with her new roommates, most of whom would love to be the beneficiary of the attention that she's receiving. Old scores and new rivalries surround the Television Tournament to crown a brand new Rival Angels Television Champion which come to a boiling point as the tournament advances."
At times the artwork reminds me of comic book artist Terry Dodson ( I really like him).
The site is updated on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
